Reflection On My Entire Project - BLOG POST 8

My project came out well and I think I did a really good job on it. The only thing I'm bummed out about is that I never got the chance to color my poster, but otherwise, I think I did pretty good. My project is about avalanches and  made a model of my mitigation technology. I think it came out great but I might have missed one or two things. Here I will tell you how I made the model.  I made a mountain out of Popsicle sticks, then covered it in brown paper. I made the wall out of straws and put it next to the mountain. I used a crumbled up piece of paper as snow and rolled it down the mountain. It gets stopped by the wall and house or human lives are saved from the avalanche. That is how I made my model.  I tried to explain everything on my poster and I think I did. My whole Project came out very well and I am happy that it did. I might have forgot 2 things or less but either way I worked very hard on my project and I am proud of it. I think I should get about an 80 or a

BLOG POST 5: Pros and Cons About My Pitch...

I feel like I did well on my pitch presentation and I didn't get a bad grade on it either. I explained everything that I could have answered unless I forgot a thing or two.  Pros Some pros are that I did explain my technology correctly and how I would be able to show that to the world. I talked loud enough so everyone could hear me. I talked clear enough so people can understand what I said. I also explained how my disaster forms (avalanche) correctly so I wouldn't get points of my pitch presentation. I did pretty good on my pitch now all I have to do is show my idea to the world. Cons I must have forgotten to do some things in my presentation as I get nervous talking in front of people so I tend to forget somethings. I forgot to actually explain what I would continue to research. I also forgot some other little things in the project like making a picture to show people my idea. I thought I did pretty good on my pitch overall and I am happy with my score.

BLOG POST 4: My Technology I Came Up With For Avalanches...

My Technology If a avalanche is going really fast down a mountain or a hill, there is a chance it will hit a town or city and it will do major damage. Everyone thought of a way to warn people about avalanches, but would if we could actually stop a avalanche... Their can be a sturdy wall around the mountain to stop the avalanche to go any further and possible tear down city's or even risk lives of other people. It is't really a piece of technology, but either way  How Can We Improve Other Technology's? There are already sirens to warn people about a avalanche. We don't have to improve them a bunch because they only warn people about the avalanche. Would if we can place more sirens around the world or possible places an avalanche occurs so everyone can be safe at all times during or when an avalanche is about to occur.  Is My Piece Of Technology Possible?  It is possible to make and it can protect people and towns from avalanches. After all, my piece of tec

BLOG POST 3: Future Technology For An Avalanche?

I came up with a really big sturdy wall that can out stand an avalanche. I think this will work because if it stops the avalanche, the cost of the avalanche would go down. It doesn't require any really big technology just a sturdy wall so it wont cost as much if it was a giant piece of technology, this is just a wall.  That is what I thought of for an idea to stop an avalanche...  http://www.avalanche.org/  http://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/natural-disasters/avalanches/

BLOG POST 2: How Can A Avalanche Affect People and What Are All Cost Of A Avalanche

How Can A Avalanche Affect People? A avalanche can be a really dangerous natural disaster and can ruin people's lives. It can take down people's houses and make them go homeless and it can kill someone and ruin the people who are related with them feel like they should do nothing else in life and not carry on. A avalanche can be a small one or it can be a huge one and when it is it can cause some serious damage and ruin peoples lives... It can cause some serious damage in their homes and it can make people homeless and that is how an avalanche affect people.  What Are All The Cost Of A Avalanche? You can lose your home and become homeless, you can lose a friend or a relative, or your town, city, (etc) can become ruined and "fall apart". Sometimes you can survive during an avalanche, but if you are stuck in the snow for at least more than 10 minutes you can die and that is why a avalanche is a really dangerous natural disaster. A avalanche can make you l

BLOG POST 1: Avalanche's

HOW IS A AVALANCHE FORMED A avalanche can be man made or just a natural cause... A avalanche starts by a   steep, snow- covered slope and a trigger that causes a weak layer within the snow pack to collapse.  Avalanches might not sound dangerous, but they can kill dozens of people in under 10 minutes if just one occurs.  HOW TO SURVIVE A AVALANCHE Avalanches are a dangerous natural, or man-made, disaster and it can ruin towns, cities, and even lives... You might think that to survive a avalanche all you need to do is run away from it, but there is more then being safe through a disaster like this then you think. Here is how to survive a avalanche. Be a Beacon. You can take one huge step toward survival before you ever set foot on a mountain. ... Stay On Top. “Swimming” to the top of the avalanche will help avoid being trapped under debris, which is solid advice. ... Reach for the Sky. ... Get Spitting. ... Remain Calm.
